The Carr St development after receiving an approved DA application of 81 units was redesigned by CDG. The new proposal maintains the plot area utilised but increases the accessibility, efficiency and environmental elements of the design by introducing more natural light and ventilation.
The design provides every room with natural light, open corridors by enhancing light, ventilation and security. A central recessed lobby servicing two buildings, contains an atrium in order to provide a greater amount of natural light. There are also three commercial tenancies. The height of adjacent buildings are 3 storeys; while this design proposes a 4th storey on Carr St, which is recessed to ensure that the impact of bulk & human scale is kept to a minimum.
